POST-AND-PRESENT Activity
TRUST JESUS “Hen Gathereth Her Chicks”
YOUTH CAN TEACH that we can TRUST JESUS that He is our Savior and is there for us as our heavenly brother and friend. Point to the TRUST JESUS poster (Psalm 91:4) “He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust ….”
We can always ask Jesus Christ to help us in our difficulties and sufferings. Even in our joys, Jesus knows each of us individually and what we need. We can always run to Him for help in good times and bad.
MORE DETAILS below
TO MAKE ACTIVITY. Print and cut out the poster pieces (the Psalm sign, hen, and chicks. Color (if needed) then laminate. Place the sign and the hen on the poster as shown. Mount the word strips on the back of the chicks and then post them around the room.
ACTIVITY
• Then place the chick under the wings of the hen to show that we are trusting Jesus for answers or peace and comfort in the situation.
TO MAKE TREAT TAGS. Print and cut out the Psalm 91:4 tag and punch a hole at the top to tie on to the treat bag (see THOUGHT TREAT below).
Jesus told the people in Jerusalem that He would gather together children even as a “hen gathereth her chickens under her wings” (Matthew 23:37; Luke 13:34). When Jesus came, parents brought their children for Jesus to bless them. He asked His disciples to bring them to Him. Yes! we can TRUST JESUS; He does love us and wants us to come to Him.
What do you want to ask JESUS and the Father for when you pray? In the above activity Trust Jesus “Hen Gathereth Her Chicks” you be reminded to ask Jesus for help any day and at any time and He will listen.
We can TRUST JESUS because …
• Jesus Suffered For Us. He knows each one of us individually. While praying for us in the Garden of Gethsemane He felt our troubles (when we felt alone, betrayed, sorrowful, abused, abandoned, or scared). He prayed for each one of us, knowing we would be struggling physically, emotionally, or spiritually.
• Jesus made it possible to be cleansed from our unrighteousness (Alma 7:1-14). This can come as we repent and are baptized and partake of His sacrament weekly to continue to be born again to inherit the kingdom of heaven.
• Jesus led the way to righteous living. Follow His example asking WHAT WOULD JESUS DO? This way we can overcome the world (John 16:33). He conquered these difficulties and so can we.
