LESSON PART 3 Learn Together

Learn Together Lesson Ideas (activities below help teach):
Review Psalms 102, 103, and 116, looking for how the Savior helps us in our efforts to overcome trials. They could work individually or in a group to write a few sentences about what they found and then share what they wrote.
Choose one or more of the following activities to help them understand this topic more deeply.
LESSON-MATCH ACTIVITIES:
#1 Lesson Lifesaver Activity: Then-and-Now Challenges obstacle course game
OBJECTIVE: Encourage youth to pray so they will not enter into temptation. Review the enrichment activity (see LESSON “Jesus Christ Teaches the Nephites to Pray”) in the manual for which the activity illustrates.
#2 Scripture Poster/Card Set: 2 Nephi 27:23 “For behold, I am God, and I am a God of miracles; . . . and I work not among the children of men save it be according to their faith.”
OBJECTIVE: Help youth know they can have faith in Jesus Christ and His miracles (in their own life).
#3 Lesson Lifesaver Activity: D&C 121:7-8 Bite-size Memorize
“Peace be unto thy soul, thine adversity and thine afflictions shall be but a small moment; And then, if thou endure it well, God shall exalt thee on high; thou shalt triumph over all thy foes.”
OBJECTIVE: To help youth understand that if we have faith in the Lord, He will help us meet whatever adversity we face.
#4 LESSON LIFESAVER Activity: Great Worth and Value grab bag
ACTIVITY IDEAS:
1. Read Ether 12:27, then talk about weaknesses and how we can become strong during our trials through reading the scriptures.
2. Share this Great Worth and Value grab bag full of character traits that will bring blessings. Remind youth of this message: “I am of great worth and value, according to my Heavenly Father who knows me perfectly.” See D&C scripture (to match) D&C 18:10 “Remember the worth of souls is great in the sight of God.”
