There is a tendency in each of us—as a result of our fallen natures—to judge others, sometimes unfairly or self-righteously. But the Savior taught, “Judge not unrighteously, that ye be not judged; but judge righteous judgment” (Joseph Smith Translation, Matthew 7:1 [in Matthew 7:1, footnote a]).

What have you learned about judging righteously from the Savior?

ACTIVITIES IN BUNDLE:

SCRIPTURE MEMORIZATION. FORGIVENESS rebus scripture poster D&C 64:10. Youth can follow the pictures to guess the words to connect with this message from Jesus Christ on forgiveness. Doctrine and Covenants 64:10 “I, the Lord, will forgive whom I will forgive, but of you it is required to forgive all men.”

YOUTH LESSON ACTIVITY. UNMERCIFUL SERVANT forgiveness story wall hanging. Youth can connect this Matthew 18:21-35; 6:12, 14-15 story with D&C 58:42 filling in the blanks to discover how Jesus’s disciples were not forgiving and were afflicted with the greater sin. The Lord is the one to forgive; we are required to forgive all.

POST-AND-PRESENT ACTIVITY. GUESS WHO WAS SAVED BY THE SAVIOR? Youth will learn the Book of Mormon stories of Enos, Alma the Younger, Zeezrom, King Lamoni’s father, and the man brought to Jesus. This will give them hope that they too can be saved because of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

YOUTH LESSON ACTIVITY. FORGIVE YOURSELF mirror message D&C 88:33. Youth can daily accept this gift of forgiveness by peering through this mirror poster and repeating this message (upon repenting): “For what doth it profit a man/woman if a gift is bestowed upon him, and he receive not the gift? Behold, he rejoices not in that which is given unto him, neither rejoices in him who is the giver of the gift.”
